Yankee Resort Lava is a home away from home curated to cater to the wanderlust travelers looking for a place in the quant forest village called Lava. Created lovingly by a family in 1982 to accommodate adventurous travelers who had no place to stay when the only existing Forest Bungalow was booked for the night. Providing one with a nights sleep in its clean warm home and warm scrumptious local food cooked with local ingredients was appreciated by many travelers.

First featured in Telegraph Kolkata when a group of students came and visited after their board exams and stayed a couple of nights under the safe loving care of Mr and Mrs Sherpa then. Bird watchers, writers and travelers looking for unexplored tourist destination would arrive at the doorsteps of Yankee Resort Lava again and Lava became a tourist destination of sorts.

Over the years the family run business has grown with the times and has different accommodation types to fit the needs of its guests. It has hosted an innumerable list of guests over the year including Bollywood actors over the years. The rooms are individual, and cottages are unique. Most of them you will find wood lined walls and tin roof.

After 4 decades it still maintains its small village charm with entry from the bazar side, the guests are pleasantly surprised after they go through the lobby and find most of the rooms and all the cottages having a mountain view. For birdwatchers their birdwatching starts from the backyard itself. The village has grown around it so you will not experience deer knocking your door early morning which was a norm in the past.
